NFL news roundup: Aaron Rodgers has no timetable for return, Jay Cutler may sit out in Week 10

The injury statuses of Aaron Rodgers and Jay Cutler are making headlines in the NFL on Tuesday.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has confirmed that he suffered a fractured collarbone in Monday's loss to the Bears. Speaking with ESPN's Jason Wilde, Rodgers offered no timetable for his return to the Packers lineup. The quarterback acknowledged during the interview that due to the small fracture in his shoulder, there will be no rehab for the injury.

Rodgers was injured during the opening drive of the game against the Bears. Backup Seneca Wallace took over for Rodgers and the Bears won the game by a score of 27-20. Previous reports indicate that Rodgers could be out for several weeks.

Jay Cutler injury: QB not sure if he will play against the Lions

The Bears could be without Jay Cutler for a bit longer. The quarterback told the hosts of the Waddle and Silvy Show that he was unsure if would play against the Lions on Sunday. Cutler has been dealing with a torn groin that has sidelined him since Week 7 against the Redskins.

Backup Josh McCown was able to lead the Bears to victory against the Packers on Monday night. He would play against the Lions if Cutler is unable to start.

Austin Collie released by Patriots

The Patriots have announced that they have released veteran wide receiver Austin Collie. The former Colts receiver has been cut by the Patriots and 49ers in just a matter of months. His history of concussions will make it even harder for him to latch on with a third team this season.

Collie appeared in four games with the Patriots this season. He recorded three receptions for 34 yards in those four appearances.

Michael Crabtree injury: 49ers WR cleared to practice

The 49ers have officially cleared wide receiver Michael Crabtree to practice, following an extensive rehab from a torn Achilles. The former first-round pick suffered the injury during OTA workouts shortly after the NFL Draft. Crabtree has missed eight games for the 49ers this season but San Francisco is still 6-2 coming off a bye.

The hope for the 49ers is that Crabtree will be able to play in games by mid-November. He is eligible to practice this week as the 49ers prepare for the Carolina Panthers.

Gary Kubiak cleared to return home, expected to join team in Week 11

Texans head coach Gary Kubiak is expected to miss just one week after suffering from a "mini-stroke" during the Week 9's loss to the Colts. Kubiak has been cleared to return home and is expected to rejoin the team during Week 11, according to the Houston Chronicle's John McClain.

The Texans will face the Cardinals in Week 10 and defensive coordinator Wade Phillips will serve as interim head coach. Kubiak, a former quarterback who served as a backup for John Elway in Denver in the 1980s, was the Broncos offensive coordinator during their two Super Bowl winning seasons during the late '90s.
