The Packers haven't had much good news on the injury front recently, but that could change this week with Clay Matthews expected to try to practice, according to Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
Clay Matthews injury: Packers LB will return to practice
Clay Matthews is getting closer to returning from a thumb injury and may practice this week.

Matthews missed the last four games after fracturing his thumb in Week 5. He was forced to have surgery, which included having pins inserted into his thumb. The pins remained for four weeks and were removed on Monday. Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Matthews will practice with a club cast on his hand and see how it goes.
It's possible Matthews could play on Sunday, but he may need at least a week to get back into game shape and ready to play. Dunne and Tom Silverstein wrote that a return in Week 11 against the New York Giants appears like the most-realistic scenario.
Matthews' return comes at a good time with the Packers needing everyone they can get right now. Green Bay has been forced to play without Matthews and Nick Perry and the defense has struggled at times, including on Monday when Josh McCown threw for 271 yards leading the Bears to a win over Green Bay.
With Aaron Rodgers expected to miss at least a couple of weeks with a fractured collarbone, the Packers may be forced to rely on their defense and running game to get by. Matthews is tied for second on the team with 3.0 sacks, despite playing in just four of eight games.
