Aaron Rodgers injury: Packers QB 4-6 weeks from return, according to report

The Green Bay Packers have a favorable schedule before Aaron Rodgers’ scheduled return, but it’s still a difficult task.

Aaron Rodgers did not offer a timetable for his return when asked Tuesday, despite initial reports he would miss three weeks. An updated timeline has been released by Fox Sports, in which a source has said Rodgers is 4-6 weeks away from returning.

A four-week return is complicated by the Packers' schedule. The team is set to face the Detroit Lions in a shortened week on Thanksgiving, which would put his earliest return just behind the vital matchup. The Packers are currently locked in a three-way tie atop the NFC North, with the team's game against the Lions potentially setting the stage for which team will win the division.

Losing Rodgers is a critical blow to the organization, but injury happened at the best possible time. The next three games are against teams with a combined 7-17 record this season, and if Rodgers rehabilitation can be expedited there’s a chance the Packers can limp through the next three games and still be prepared for their difficult close to the season.

The two week difference between Rodgers’ earliest and latest return is of vital importance, and will be something to watch moving forward.
