NFL Players of the Week: Nick Foles throws 7 TDs to earn Week 9 honors

Nick Foles was an easy choice for NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors after tying an NFL record with seven touchdown passes. Jason Campbell and Cameron Wake were also among the honorees.

Nick Foles tied an NFL record with seven touchdown passes and had a perfect passer rating to help the Philadelphia Eagles dismantle the Oakland Raiders in Week 9. For his efforts, Foles was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week in what was likely a unanimous decision.

In the AFC, another backup-turned-starting quarterback was honored. Jason Campbell's numbers didn't reach Foles' stratospheric heights, but he had a solid outing, going 23-for-35 passing for 262 yards and three touchdowns to help the Cleveland Browns defeat the Baltimore Ravens.

On defense, Miami Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake was an easy pick for AFC Defensive Player of the Week. He had three sacks in an overtime win over the Cincinnati Bengals, none more important than the walk-off safety he recorded against Andy Dalton to give the Dolphins a 22-20 win. Wake also had a forced fumble and recovery.

Shea McClellin was the NFC defensive honoree. He also notched three sacks among his five total tackles to help the Chicago Bears upset an Aaron Rodgers-less Green Bay Packers squad Monday night. He had a half-sack entering the game.

The special teams players of the week were Golden Tate in the NFC and Nick Folk in the AFC. Tate helped the Seattle Seahawks fend off an upset bid from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a momentum-flipping 71-yard punt return near the end of the third quarter. Folk hit all four of his field goal attempts to give the New York Jets a big win over the New Orleans Saints.
