Aaron Rodgers will miss four to six weeks to recover from the left shoulder injury he suffered Monday night against the Chicago Bears, according to reports. The injury means that Seneca Wallace will take the reins of the Green Bay Packers offense against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, with Scott Tolzien acting as backup quarterback.
NFL news roundup: Aaron Rodgers out up to 6 weeks, Texans name Wade Phillips interim head coach
Aaron Rodgers is out for the time being, as is Texans head coach Gary Kubiak, who will be replaced by Wade Phillips in the mean time. Those stories, plus more on Richie Incognito, E.J. Manuel, Darren McFadden and DeMarcus Ware.

The Packers are in good shape for the playoffs at 5-3 overall. Fortunately for them, Wallace has played capably when thrust into a starting role in the past, though he has hardly been MVP quality. If the Packers can ride out Rodgers’ absence with few bumps along the way, they should be in good shape for his projected return a few weeks before the playoffs.
Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips will act as the Houston Texans' head coach while Gary Kubiak recovers from the transient ischemic attack he suffered in Week 9. There is no timetable yet for Kubiak's return. Fortunately for the Texans, Phillips has plenty of head coaching experience. He compiled an 82-59 regular season record during stints with the New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys.
The Texans are hoping to stage a resurgence during the second half of the 2013 season. The team has played well the last two weeks in tight losses to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Indianapolis Colts. Case Keenum has been a revelation. If the second-year quarterback can continue to play well, the Texans should be better than 2-6 over their final eight games.
Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito was finally reached for comment on the racist and threatening voicemails and text messages he sent teammate Jonathan Martin. Incognito didn't offer much to reporters when he was caught leaving a doctor's appointment. He said he was "doing well" and repeated twice that he is "trying to weather the storm" before finally issuing a "no comment" and driving off.
The NFL is currently investigating the Dolphins’ locker room after Martin left the team alleging constant harassment since entering the NFL in 2012. Incognito is currently suspended by the Dolphins for “conduct detrimental to the team.”
E.J. Manuel is expected to return to the Buffalo Bills lineup Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers after sitting since Week 5 with an LCL sprain. He has yet to be named the Bills' starter, but with Thaddeus Lewis coming off a rib injury and rookie Jeff Tuel struggling last week, it seems likely that Manuel will appear under center.
Manuel led the 3-6 Bills to a respectable 2-2 start this season. On the year, he has completed 56.7 percent of his passes for 985 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions. The Bills hope he can inject some life into the team for the back stretch of the season.
Darren McFadden did not participate in practice Wednesday for the Oakland Raiders while recovering from the hamstring injury that kept him out of last week's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. His status is being monitored closely by Raiders fans. If McFadden can't suit up, Rashad Jennings should once again play a large role in Oakland's rushing and passing attacks.
DeMarcus Ware was back in practice for the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday, and is expected to suit up Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Ware has missed the Cowboys' last three games with a quad injury. The defensive end is expected to be listed as limited throughout the week, but even a limited Ware should be a tremendous boost to the Cowboys defense.
