NFL news: Dolphins took action against Richie Incognito, team discussed cutting him

The Richie Incognito story doesn't look like it will end anytime soon. News emerged late-week that he had been involved in an incident during a team golf outing in which he was accused of sexually harassing a female volunteer.

Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin addressed the media and said the team handled the issue internally, taking "immediate action," but was unwilling to elaborate on what action was taken. Incognito's behavior has been closely scrutinized ever since Jonathan Martin left the organization and claimed he was physically and verbally abused by his teammates, most notably Incognito.

Despite weariness over Incognito’s many off-field issues, the Dolphins felt like they didn’t have a choice but to keep him on, since they did not have a reliable option to start at guard in his absence.

Jerome Simpson charged with DWI

Minnesota's top wide receiver Jerome Simpson was charged with a misdemeanor DWI hot off the heels of the Vikings second win. Simpson was arrested after refusing to take a breathalyzer test and spent time in Hennepin County Jail.

He leads the Vikings with 491 receiving yards this season, and the team issued a brief statement:

The Vikings are aware of the matter involving Jerome Simpson. We are continuing to gather information and will have further comment at the appropriate time.

Green Bay Packers blog 'Acme Packing Company' had a chance to speak with a top orthopedic surgeon on the risks of quarterback Aaron Rodgers returning to action too quickly.

According to the surgeon, the biggest risk is Rodgers returning too soon and getting hit at the fracture site. That could cause his shoulder to separate further, which would mean surgery to put a screw and plate in the shoulder.
