Rob Gronkowski injury: Patriots TE will play vs. Texans

The dangerous Patriots tight end will play despite a smattering of injuries.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will play on Sunday after all, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Gronkowski was limited in practice this past week with back, hamstring and forearm injuries. He was listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. The big tight end has played in just five games this season, but has once again become a favorite of quarterback Tom Brady, who has hit Gronkowski with 31 passes for 433 yards and three touchdowns since his return.

The fourth-year tight end enjoyed a breakout season in 2011, catching 90 passes for 1,327 yards and an astounding 17 touchdowns in 16 games. The following season, Gronkowski was limited to just 11 games before being injured, catching 11 passes for 790 yards and 11 touchdowns while continuing to be a dangerous downfield threat for the Patriots.

The 8-3 Patriots travel to Houston to take on the Texans at 1 p.m. ET, with coverage on CBS.
