Sean Lee injury: Cowboys LB has no structural damage

The Cowboys’ defensive leader has soreness and stiffness in his neck, but should be ready for Week 15.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee got some good news on his neck injury. According to ESPN's Ed Werder, Lee has stiffness and soreness, but suffered no structural damage. He should be ready for next week's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Lee left Monday's loss to the Chicago Bears with an apparent neck stinger. He went in for an MRI Tuesday morning, but it didn't turn up anything serious. The Cowboys will likely rest him during the practice week, but he's expected to suit up in Week 15.

Lee missed the previous two games with a knee sprain. By far the best player on the Cowboys’ defense, he has been plagued by injuries in his four-year career, never playing a full 16-game season. Dallas’ defense is one of the worst in the league and has been even more putrid with Lee out. When healthy, Lee has been one of the best linebackers in football, recording 99 tackles, four interceptions and a defensive touchdown in 11 games.
