More on the matchup: Just over a month has passed since these teams last met. Thursday night should be another close affair, with eight points separating the teams in November. Manning threw three touchdowns, while Rivers completed an efficient 65 percent of his passes, but was only able to score once. It will take a fortunate series of events for San Diego to make the playoffs in 2013, but this team is accustomed to adversity after coping with a number of injuries. Denver is one of the league’s best teams, but counting out the Chargers is a mistake.
