Bears vs. Browns 2013 odds: Chicago getting no love with even line

The Bears hold the better record and are coming off a big win over the Cowboys, but struggles on the road have oddsmakers wary.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

The 7-6 Chicago Bears destroyed the Dallas Cowboys by the score of 45-28 on Monday night in a critical game for their postseason chances, but they are getting no love for the performance from oddsmakers.

The line for their game against the 4-9 Browns currently sits at even despite the fact that Cleveland is mired in a four-game losing streak.

In fairness, the Browns did come within seconds of knocking off the Patriots last weekend. Cleveland allowed Tom Brady to pass for two touchdowns in the final minute and missed a last-second field goal to lose 27-26 in Foxboro. The Bears will also be playing on the road, where they've gone 2-4 this season.

Still, the Bears' Monday night blowout suggests the offense has finally come together under Josh McCown, who has performed brilliantly in place of an injured Jay Cutler. McCown threw for 348 yards and four touchdowns against the Cowboys and has ignited a full-blown quarterback controversy in Chicago, where Cutler is scheduled to become a free agent at the end of the season.

The Browns would love to have the Bears' quarterback issues. The position has been a revolving door in Cleveland all season, with injuries and ineptitude forcing Brandon Weeden alternately in and out of the lineup on what seems like a weekly basis. With Weeden concussed and Jason Campbell recovered from his own head injury, Campbell will make his second consecutive start on Sunday.

That’s certainly good news for the Browns, as Campbell threw for 391 yards, three touchdowns and no picks against the Pats. He and and McCown have the potential to lead an unexpected shootout; something to keep in mind when betting on the game’s 46-point over/under.
