Roddy White injury update: Falcons WR expected to play in Week 15

The veteran receiver felt he would be able to play on Sunday, and he is expected to be on the field against the Redskins.

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White will be able to play on Sunday against the Washington Redskins, reports Ian Rapoport.

White was injured during last week's 22-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers when the receiver suffered a bruised knee when he landed out of bounds and landed on the leg. The veteran receiver stated earlier in the week that he didn't feel the injury was that serious and that he didn't realize he was hurt until after the game.

The veteran receiver has been limited throughout the season with ankle and hamstring injuries, and only recently had gotten into a game while fully healthy. After not catching more than four passes in a single game all season, White exploded for 10 catches and 143 yards on Dec. 1 against the Buffalo Bills. On the season, White has 38 receptions for 426 yards and just one touchdown.

The Falcons face the Redskins at 1 p.m. ET with coverage on FOX.
