Eli Manning’s nightmare season continues

Eli threw five more picks in a shutout loss at home, and the Giants’ season hit a new low again.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning had probably his poorest game yet in Week 15. Manning completed 18-of-31 passes for just 156 yards and five interceptions in a 23-0 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. It's the Giants' first home shutout since 1996.

It's the first time in his career he has thrown for five picks in one game. Manning is now up to 25 interceptions on the season, taking the league "lead" away from Jets rookie Geno Smith. The 25 picks are the most Manning has thrown since 2010, and he still has two games left. Manning has also passed Charlie Conerly for the most interceptions by a Giants quarterback.

Manning was less than enthused about his performance, telling reporters to just watch the film instead of talking about the game.

Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks was equally glib when asked about the game.

The Giants fell to 5-9 and will have a losing season just two years after winning the Super Bowl.
