NFC North injury report, Week 15: Aaron Rodgers, Adrian Peterson close to returning

Adrian Peterson is expected to be back in Week 16, but the Packers are preparing for Matt Flynn to start again although there’s a possibility that Aaron Rodgers returns.

The four teams in the NFC North have suffered plenty of significant injuries during the 2013 season, but each managed to avoid adding any big names to their injury report in Week 15. Now the teams are looking to see the return of some of their key contributors in Week 16.

The biggest injury in the entire NFL has been a collarbone break for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered in early November. While he was reportedly close to returning to the field in Week 15, his status for Week 16 is not yet known and the Packers say they're preparing for Matt Flynn to start once again.

If Rodgers isn't ready to return, wide receiver Randall Cobb may be close to a return after suffering a broken leg in Week 6. He has returned to the practice field and would provide a boost for the Packers offense if he's good to go in Week 16.

The Minnesota Vikings are also likely to have a big name back in Week 16, as head coach Leslie Frazier told reporters on Monday that he expects running back Adrian Peterson to be back after sitting out Week 15.

Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman isn't so lucky, as the veteran defensive back will not return to the lineup due to a triceps injury suffered earlier in the year. Linebacker Lance Briggs is expected to be back though, after sitting out all of November with a shoulder injury.
