Joe Flacco injury: Ravens QB says knee is fine

Flacco was slow to get up after taking a helmet to the knee in the fourth quarter, but told reporters after the game that he is fine.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco says he's not concerned about a knee injury that he suffered during the fourth quarter of the team's 18-16 victory over the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football, telling reporters after the game that his knee is fine, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun.

“It wasn’t really bothering me once the initial hit,” Flacco said. “I was probably more scared than anything from just what I felt and also just trying to get a couple of yards out of it. Yeah, it feels fine. It feels strong.”

Flacco, 28, was slow to get up after he was hit in the left knee by the helmet of Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy. However, the Ravens quarterback managed to get up and stay in the game, eventually leading the game-winning drive later in the quarter that was capped with a 61-yard field goal by Justin Tucker.

The reigning Super Bowl MVP finished the game 20-of-38 passing for 222 yards, upping his season total to 3,460 passing yards. Flacco received a six-year, $120.6 million deal during the offseason.

The Ravens are on a four-game winning streak and are currently in control of the second wild card spot in the AFC. The team is scheduled to host the New England Patriots in Week 16.
