The Denver Broncos added a defensive lineman to their defense on Tuesday, as the team agreed to terms with former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Jeremy Mincey, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN.

Mincey, 30, was released by the Jaguars on Friday after missing multiple team meetings during Gus Bradley’s first season as head coach. After he was declared inactive for two weeks, Mincey returned for a game but missed another meeting and was subsequently released.
A sixth-round pick of the New England Patriots in the 2006 NFL Draft, Mincey had a short stint with the San Francisco 49ers before joining the Jaguars. In 62 games and 33 starts with the team, Mincey accumulated 20 sacks, including eight sacks in 2011, earning the lineman a four-year, $20 million deal in the subsequent offseason.
With the Broncos, Mincey will be reunited with Jack Del Rio, the defensive coordinator in Denver and former head coach of the Jaguars. While Shaun Phillips has tallied 10 sacks for the Broncos from the defensive end position, no other player has more than five sacks, including two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller.
In order to make room on the roster, the Broncos waived former starting center J.D. Walton, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post. Walton suffered a broken ankle last season, limiting him to just four games. He underwent additional surgery on the ankle during the offseason and began the season on the physically unable to perform list. Although he was originally expected to miss the entire season, Walton was activated in early November. He's practiced with the team, but has yet to be active for a game.
Manny Ramirez took over for Walton and has played well, securing the starting center duties. Walton was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
