Pat Angerer injury: Colts LB placed on injured reserve

The Colts have shut down Pat Angerer for the year with a knee injury.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts have placed linebacker Pat Angerer on injured reserve, ending his season. They signed running back Shaun Draughn to take his spot on the active roster.

Angerer suffered a knee injury earlier in the season and has been playing through it all year, although it's unlikely when he aggravated the injury. He was made inactive in Sunday's win over the Houston Texans. Before the injury, Angerer was a vital part of the Colts' defense, recording 63 tackles, an interception, two passes defended and 0.5 sacks. He's due to be a free agent in the offseason. and it's unknown if the Colts will try to bring him back.

Draughn played for the Kansas City Chiefs last season and was cut by the Baltimore Ravens earlier this year. Starter Donald Brown suffered a neck stinger on Sunday and is questionable to play this week, making Draughn a depth player behind Trent Richardson.
