Jaguars to put Cecil Shorts on injured reserve, per report
The Jaguars are set to shut down Cecil Shorts for the season with a groin injury.

Shorts has been dealing with a groin injury for most of the season. He aggravated it in recent weeks and was forced to sit out Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills. Shorts said after the game that the groin injury will require surgery in the offseason, and head coach Gus Bradley opted to give him a headstart on rehab rather than rush him back in a rebuilding year.
Shorts has been a bright spot in the Jaguars' 4-10 season. He ends his year with 66 catches for 777 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games. Mike Brown and Ace Sanders will finish out the season as the Jaguars' starting wide receivers. With Justin Blackmon's status still up in the air, Shorts figures to be Jacksonville's top pass-catcher again in 2014.
