Jason Campbell cleared for activity after concussion

Campbell sat out in Week 13 after suffering a head injury in the week prior.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Jason Campbell is not yet ready to return to the practice field, but he has been cleared to participate in activity with the team, according to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.

Campbell, 31, suffered a concussion in the team's Week 12 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and was unavailable for Week 13. In his place, the Browns started second-year quarterback Brandon Weeden, who finished with 24-of-40 passes completed for 370 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. His principle target was receiver Josh Gordon, who tallied 10 receptions for a franchise-record 261 yards and two touchdowns.

Before injury, Campbell started four games for the Browns, leading the team to a 1-3 record in that span. He has accumulated 933 yards passing, six touchdowns and three interceptions and a 79.8 passer rating in 2013.

The Browns will try to snap a three-game losing streak in Week 14 against the New England Patriots.
