Eddie Lacy injury: Packers RB questionable to return vs. Steelers

Eddie Lacy left the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.

The Green Bay Packers are in a desperate fight for their playoff lives against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and they may have to finish it without their leading rusher. Rookie running back Eddie Lacy limped off with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter and the team has announced he is questionable to return.

Lacy tweaked the ankle during a drive early in the fourth quarter. He has been replaced by James Starks, who helped the Packers drive down for a field goal to pull within a touchdown of the Steelers.

Lacy has been key in the Packers’ offensive success all game, rushing 15 times for 84 yards and two touchdowns. He had a leaping, spinning touchdown in the first quarter to give the Packers an early lead, then scored on a 2-yard plunge in the third quarter.

The Alabama product is the favorite for this season’s Offensive Rookie of the Year, having run for 1,028 yards and eight touchdowns coming into the game.

The Packers also lost Clay Matthews to a thumb injury earlier in the game.
