Jason Campbell remains Browns’ starting quarterback

The Browns are sticking with the veteran.

It looks as if former first-round pick Brandon Weeden may have played his last snap for the Browns. Cleveland plans to start veteran Jason Campbell in the season finale against the Steelers, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot. Sunday will make Campbell's eighth start of the season.

The Browns are 4-11 and are 0-6 since their bye week. At this point, the Browns are strictly playing for pride, so going with a veteran over player with less experience seems to be slight toward Weeden. While the Browns have played poorly, Campbell has thrown for 1,775 yards, 10 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. He has a 77.8 passer rating.

Weeden and the newly-signed Alex Tanney will continue to serve as Campbell's backup. Weeden has thrown for 1,731 yards, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions in eight appearances this season. Tanney has yet to appear in an NFL game and was signed by the Browns prior to Week 13.
