Randall Cobb injury: Packers activate WR from IR

The Packers will likely see the return of their go-to wide receiver/returner on Sunday.

The Packers activated wide receiver Randall Cobb from the short-term injured reserve on Saturday and he could play against Chicago on Sunday.

Cobb has been out of the lineup since Week 6 due to a broken leg. He and quarterback Aaron Rodgers will return in time for the Packers extremely important divisional matchup against the Bears. The game on Sunday will decide the winner of the NFC North.

Cobb has been missed on both offense and special teams. In his third season, he had 29 catches for 378 receiving yards and two touchdowns prior to his injury. Cobb has also been a dynamic kick returner with three total touchdowns in three seasons. Jarrett Boykin filled Cobb's role in the passing game alongside Jordy Nelson and James Jones.

The Packers are 7-7-1 on the season and have had to deal with several injuries on offense and defense this season. Rodgers has missed several games with a collarbone injury, as has linebacker Clay Matthews with a thumb injury.
