Lions' star receiver Calvin Johnson is inactive today for Detroit's NFC North clash with the Minnesota Vikings as he continues to suffer from a knee injury, Will Brinson is reporting. The news means the end of Johnson's season.
Calvin Johnson injury: Lions WR inactive vs. Vikings
The receiver’s season is over with a new career high in yards per catch.

This is Johnson's second missed game of the season, after not playing in the Lions' 22-9 loss to the Packers in Week 5. Despite playing through injury, he had one of the best years of his career, averaging a personal-best 17.8 yards per catch and finishing with 1,492 receiving yards (the third-highest in his career).
Johnson averaged more than 100 receiving yards per game for the third straight season, and has established himself as the top wide receiver in the sport. The Lions are 7-8 this season and have already been knocked out of playoff contention for the second straight season. The wide receiver has only played in one playoff game in his storied career.
Minnesota will be without two of their main offensive weapons as well, as running backs Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart are also inactive.
