The Bengals are without their regular punter after Kevin Huber was wrecked by a blindside hit on Dec. 15, breaking his jaw and cracking some vertebrae. In his stead, the team has signed Shawn Powell, who spent part of the 2012 season on the Bills roster.
Bengals’ Shawn Powell uncorks a 10-yard punt
The playoff picture could get shaken up by a shank.

He’s not exactly making his case for a steady spot:
That’s a 10-yard punt. Powell knew it right off his foot, but the dudes trying to cover the punt ran down field in vain without realizing what had happened.
Given a short field, the Ravens scored quickly and picked up a two-point conversion to tie the game at 17. Considering the implications of this game in the playoff picture, this might be the most important punt of the 2013 NFL season.
Lower ranks of football have given us the two-yard punt and the punt that went backwards and ended up being a safety. It’s been a banner year for bad punts.
