Eagles vs. Cowboys score update: Philadelphia snag early lead, 17-10

Nick Foles racked up 197 yards passing and two touchdowns to give the Eagles an early lead in the NFC East championship game.

Through two quarters in the de facto NFC East championship game, the Philadelphia Eagles lead the Dallas Cowboys 17-10 thanks to an efficient first half from quarterback Nick Foles.

Foles completed 12-of-16 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns, including a three-yard pass to LeSean McCoy that gave the Eagles a 10-0 lead early. The Cowboys bounced back though, with a six-play, 66-yard drive immediately thereafter that ended with tight end Gavin Escobar flipping into the endzone for a 17-yard touchdown reception.

With Tony Romo done for the year, the Cowboys have had to rely on Kyle Orton to keep their postseason hopes alive and the backup hasn't done too poorly. Orton completed 15-of-23 passes in the first half for 183 yards and a touchdown before throwing an interception that bounced off the hands of Jason Witten in the final minutes of the second quarter.

The late interception gave the Eagles the ball back near midfield and they promptly covered the distance in two plays to expand the lead with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Brent Celek. A quick drive for the Cowboys that followed set up Dan Bailey for a 44-yard field goal to cut the Philadelphia lead to seven.

Philadelphia will be the recipients of the kickoff to begin the second half.
