Aaron Rodgers injury: Packers QB set for shoulder scans on Tuesday

Green Bay’s franchise star is hoping for good news on the medical front.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is going for shoulder scans on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Ed Werner.

Rodgers has been out for the past four games after breaking his collarbone on a hit by Chicago Bears defensive end Shea McClellin on Monday Night Football. There has been much speculation Rodgers will return this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, but there have also been whispers that if he can't play and the Packers fall out of the playoff race, the organization would sit him for the remiainder of the season.

At the time of Rodgers' injury, Green Bay was 5-2. However, the Packers have completely fallen apart with Seneca Wallace, Scott Tolzien and Matt Flynn trying to keep the team afloat. Green Bay is currently 5-6-1 and without much hope of a wild card spot. The Packers need to catch the 7-5 Detroit Lions, who lead the NFC North.

Before he was injured, Rodgers was having another terrific season. The former California Golden Bear threw for 2,218 yards and 15 touchdowns against four interceptions.
