Brian Hartline injury update: Dolphins WR has torn PCL

Hartline isn’t expected to need surgery to repair a torn PCL he suffered in the team’s season finale.

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brian Hartline will miss time in the offseason after an MRI revealed that the veteran suffered a PCL tear in the team's season finale against the New York Jets, according to Armanda Salguero of The Miami Herald.

Hartline, 27, reached 1,000 yards for the season on Sunday with a 25-yard reception. However, it proved to be his last reception of the season as he limped off the field and spent the remainder of the game on the sideline. According to Salguero though, the injury is not too bad and Hartline will not need surgery to repair his knee.

A fourth-round selection in the 2009 NFL Draft, Hartline has emerged as a top target for Ryan Tannehill and received a five-year, $30.775 million contract in the 2013 offseason to match. He finished 2013 with 76 receptions for 1,016 yards and four touchdowns to become the fifth player in franchise history to reach 1,000 yards receiving in consecutive years.

Hartline is expected to be fully ready for training camp.
