Week 13 NFL players of the week: Russell Wilson, Eric Decker honored for roles in pivotal wins

Russell Wilson dazzled on Monday Night Football, passing for 310 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for 47 yards to help the Seattle Seahawks defeat the New Orleans Saints. For his efforts, Wilson was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 13. He went 22-for-30 passing to complete at least 72 percent of his passes for a fourth straight game.

Eric Decker was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after recording eight receptions for 174 yards and four touchdowns during the Denver Broncos' win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Decker had just three touchdown receptions on the season before exploding for four scores. Sunday's performance was just the second time in his career that Decker averaged over 20 yards per reception on at least five catches.

Defensive Player of the Week honors went to a pair of defensive ends. Justin Tuck recorded a career-high four sacks to help the New York Giants down the Washington Redskins. Olivier Vernon had 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks, also a career high, to lead the Miami Dolphins to a blowout win over the New York Jets.

Punters were honored as Special Teams Players of the Week. Donnie Jones of the Philadelphia Eagles placed eight punts inside the 20-yard line against the Arizona Cardinals, which was the third-most in a game since the NFL began tallying that stat in 1976. Kevin Huber of the Cincinnati Bengals placed two punts inside the 20 and averaged 55.5 yards on four total punts in a win over the San Diego Chargers.
