Bills vs. Buccaneers 2013 final score: Tampa Bay stays hot, wins 27-6

It wasn’t pretty, but the Bucs handled Buffalo on Sunday to win their fourth game of the season.

Bobby Rainey ran for 127 yards and a touchdown as the suddenly hot Tampa Bay Buccaneers dispatched of the Buffalo Bills, 27-6.

After starting 0-8, the Bucs have now won four of their last five games, with their only loss in that span coming in Carolina to the 9-3 Panthers.

In an ugly game marred by a combined seven turnovers and 19 penalties, both teams struggled on offense. Rainey’s big game helped separate Tampa Bay, however. On just the second play from scrimmage, the running back found a hole in the left side of the line, stiff-armed a defender and raced 80 yards for a touchdown.

Tampa Bay showed off its quick-strike ability again later in the first quarter when Mike Glennon hit Vincent Jackson for a 38-yard touchdown. Forced out of the pocket, Glennon unloaded while rolling out to his right, and Jackson was able to fend off the defender to come down with the ball in the end zone.

Glennon threw his second touchdown pass later in the first half when he hit Tim Wright for a 5-yard score, extending the Bucs' lead to 24-3.

Bills rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel had a nightmare of a game, throwing four picks and no touchdowns as he finished with a passer rating of just 31.2.

Fantasy studs and duds

Jackson was the only Buccaneer outside of Rainey who had a significant fantasy day. The big wideout had three receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown. Glennon threw for two scores but added a pair of picks and had only 90 yards passing.

The Bills were a fantasy wasteland. The usually reliable rushing combo of C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson combined for just 34 yards and no touchdowns on the ground.

Did they cover?

Tampa Bay entered as 3-point favorites, according to OddsShark.com, easily covering with the big win.
