Amazing Alshon Jeffery catch puts Bears up 10 at half vs. Cowboys.

The cold didn’t bother Alshon Jeffery and the Bears who lead 24-14 at halftime.

Cold temperatures didn’t impact Chicago’s offense much and thanks in large part to a spectacular catch from Alshon Jeffery, the Bears lead 24-14 at halftime on Monday Night Football.

Chicago appeared on the way to a 20-14 halftime lead, but Jeffery made a terrific catch in the corner of the endzone with 10 seconds left in the half.

Temperatures hovered around zero degrees with the windchill dropping temperatures well into the negatives. The offenses didn't appear to be impacted, each authoring long touchdown drives. Both quarterbacks were extremely efficient in the first half. Josh McCown completed 18-of-23 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns while Tony Romo completed 8-of-13 for 71 yards and two touchdowns.

Dallas got a nice boost from the running game with DeMarco Murray gashing the Bears. Murray racked up 99 yards in the half on 13 carries. He needs just one more yard to eclipse 100 yards for the second time this season. Matt Forte also had some success in the first half, but Chicago was much better through the air. As they have all season, Brandon Marshall and Jeffery led the way for Chicago and each is on pace to top 100 yards.

Both teams were excellent offensively on third down. Dallas converted 3-of-5 third downs while Chicago started 5-of-5 before failing to convert and finishing 6-of-7. Chicago will receive the second half kickoff.
