According to Mike Max of CBS Minnesota, the Vikings will attempt to trade Harvin after a blowup with the coaching staff. Multiple sources told Max that the receiver had an “embarrassing tirade” at Leslie Frazier while teammates were present. Nursing an ankle injury at the time, Harvin left the team and was later placed on injured reserve. He missed the final seven games of the 2012 season.
This isn’t the first time Harvin has clashed with his coaches; Max states that he had a similar incident with former head coach Brad Childress. The Vikings have long had a contentious relationship with the fourth-year receiver, and this latest incident appears to be the final straw.
If Harvin is moved, he could draw a heavy price on the trade market. Despite injury concerns, Harvin is one of the most electric playmakers in the league and is set to make only $2.9 million in the final year of his contract. His character concerns are a major red flag, however, and several teams may not want to put up with the headache.
