Greg Jennings open to joining Dolphins

Free agent wide receiver Greg Jennings said he “wouldn’t mind” being reunited with his former offensive coordinator Joe Philbin and the Miami Dolphins.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Wide receiver Greg Jennings could end up joining his old offensive coordinator, Joe Philbin, in Miami in 2013. When asked about joining Philbin, now the head coach of the Dolphins, Jennings said, "I wouldn't mind that at all. The weather's definitely nice. They have an up and coming quarterback."

Philbin served as the Packers' offensive coordinator from 2007-11, Jennings five best seasons as a pro. In 2012 Philbin left to coach the Dolphins, and Jennings missed most of the season with an abdominal injury. Miami has already stated its intention to add playmakers to their offense this offseason and Jennings might be the perfect fit.

Ultimately, Jennings is prepared to go to any team in free agency this offseason. The former Packer did not rule out a return to Green Bay, but with the depth the Packers have at wide receiver he knows the chances are that he will end up in a new uniform in 2013. Jennings said if he does not stay with the Packers, “all other 31 teams are an option.”

Jennings is one of the top free agents available this offseason and should garner a large contract on the open market no matter where he ends up.
