The Minnesota Vikings will play two seasons at TCF Bank Stadium while their own new facility is being constructed in downtown Minneapolis. The team had hoped to play only one season at that venue, but the timeline now proposes for the Metrodome to be demolished in February 2014 and for the new Vikings stadium to be completed and ready for the 2016 season.
Vikings will play 2 seasons at TCF Bank Stadium
It looks like the Vikings will have to spend a couple of seasons playing in the Golden Gophers’ building.

TCF Bank Stadium is the home of the Minnesota Golden Gophers. It opened in 2009 and seats about 51,000 spectators, which represents a considerable reduction in seating capacity for the Vikings. The same firm that built both this facility and Target Field is responsible for the Vikings’ new stadium.
The Vikings have some history with TCF Bank Stadium, playing a home game there in 2010 after the Metrodome roof collapsed due to inclement weather.
