Denver Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent and while the Broncos are expected to use their franchise tag to prevent Clady from hitting the open market, that doesn't mean Clady will be reporting to team headquarters anytime soon. In a radio interview on SiriusXM, Clady said he has no intentions of signing the franchise tender if he is tagged.

In an appearance with Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller, Clady said he and his agent expect Clady to receive the franchise tag and while he is OK with it, he won’t sign the tender. Instead, Clady said he would like to have a long-term contract worked out so he doesn’t miss OTAs and training camp. Kirwin said Clady sounds like he has no intention of signing the tender, to which Clady responded, “Exactly.”
Since Clady will not be under contract, he can hold out of training camp and regular season games without incurring a fine from the Broncos. Clady has proven to be one of, if not the best left tackle in the NFL, during his five year career in Denver. At 26 years old, he’s poised to cash in on a big contract, something he turned down last offseason. Clady rejected a deal worth $50 million last offseason, a gamble he said paid off.
"I felt like going into the year, I was in great shape and knew I would have a great year. Especially with Peyton Manning back there," Clady said. "I rolled the dice and it came out well."
