NFL Combine 2013: Draft board won’t change much, says Eagles GM

The NFL Scouting Combine will garner plenty of attention, but Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said he hopes the event won’t have much impact on Philadelphia’s draft board.

The NFL Scouting Combine will soon be the focus of the football world, but while players will rise and fall in mock drafts based on their measurements, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said he hopes the Combine has very little impact on the Eagles' draft board.

In an interview on the Eagles website, Roseman said the organization has already evaluated the draft class and despite the attention paid to the Combine, the players’ tape is the most important evaluation for Philadelphia. Roseman said he doesn’t want one measurement to change the draft board the Eagles have created based on evaluations.

“It really shouldn’t change drastically,” Roseman said.

Although the Eagles will rely on tape for the majority of their evaluations, Roseman said there are certain positions where the Eagles look more at height, weight and speed. When it comes to the 2013 NFL Draft, Roseman said the Eagles plan to take the best player available. He said after discussions with the coaching staff, the Eagles plan to add players who are a good fit for the Eagles’ scheme.
