Percy Harvin trade rumors: Vikings WR refuses to comment on situation

Minnesota’s star wide receiver doesn’t have much to say these days.

Ronald Martinez

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin has been in the news virtually all offseason, the constant source of trade rumors.

When a reporter caught up with him outside his house, Harvin dismissed the quote-seeker and went back into his house, saying, “I got nothing to say about any of that,” according to twincities.com.

Over at SB Nation’s Vikings blog site, the Daily Norseman, writer Christopher Gates was also a tad surprised Harvin was quiet on the matter.

It certainly makes you wonder just how upset Harvin is with the organization. It also makes you pause and think about just how serious the Vikings are about their claims that Harvin isn’t on the market.

If Minnesota had called Harvin and told him there was nothing to the rumors, the ex-Gator probably would have talked for a minute or two and tried to clear things up. Instead, Harvin got defensive and went to the seclusion of his home.

There are teams out there that would be a nice fit for the speedy playmaker.

Should Minnesota decide to hold onto Harvin and attempt to smooth things over, Christian Ponder would be more than happy with that situation. It does seem curious to trade your best receiver, especially in this case where nobody else on the Vikings is a proven commodity on the outside.
