Impending free agent receiver and return specialist Joshua Cribbs has yet to hear from the Cleveland Browns about a new deal, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

The two sides have not discussed a new contract, and no meeting is scheduled for the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, where such talks traditionally take place. His agent, J.R. Rickett, says that Cribbs wants to stay in Cleveland and is optimistic about getting a new deal done: “We’re here to listen if they want to reach out to us...he can change a game on one play”.
Cribbs spent his entire career in Cleveland, making a name for himself as one of the greatest returners in the game. Over eight seasons, he has returned eight kickoffs and three punts for touchdowns. He’s been less successful as a receiver, getting only 107 receptions, 1,161 yards and seven touchdowns, along with 34 fumbles.
Cribbs turns 30 in June and doesn’t offer much in the passing game, but he’s still capable of producing great field position and game-changing plays on returns. If the Browns decide to let him walk, he should have little trouble catching on as a specialist elsewhere.
