NFL Combine 2013 results: Jarvis Jones will not participate in drills

Jarvis Jones won’t be working out at Lucas Oil Stadium in the 2013 NFL Combine. Here’s a rundown of his decision, along with the rest of the highlights from Thursday’s news.

With just a day remaining until players hit the field at Lucas Oil Stadium, Jarvis Jones already made a splash in the headlines by deciding he will not work out at the 2013 NFL Combine. Jones, one of the top players in this year’s draft class, will instead focus on his March 21 Pro Day in Athens, Ga.

Jones’ draft stock won’t be affected much by not participating in the combine drills. His medical exams in Indianapolis will be the biggest determination for where scouts place him on their boards.

Adam Schefter reported Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner will undergo surgery on a torn labrum in his right shoulder after the combine. Milliner is still set to work out in every drill except the bench press, though. The potential top-10 pick should be fully recovered by training camp, according to doctor reports.

Kansas State standout Collin Klein plans to workout when quarterbacks take the field this Sunday. Meanwhile, Purdue defensive tackle Kawann Short is sitting out with a hamstring injury.

Keenan Allen also will not work out in Indy after aggravating a left knee injury a few weeks ago. Allen's agent said the wide receiver is 70 percent healed after injuring his PCL in 2012.

On the coaching side of things, Rex Ryan discussed Darrelle Revis' future with the Jets, seeming optimistic about his chances of playing for New York in 2013. He danced around the topic of a trade, so we still can't rule anything out in Revis' case.

Percy Harvin doesn't appear to be going anywhere now. Vikings general manager Rick Spielman says he has no intent of trading the young wide receiver. Speculation continues to cloud Harvin's future in Minnesota.
