Quarterback JaMarcus Russell is planning to hold a pro day on or around April 10, according to Tony Pauline of DraftInsider.net. Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is expected to help out and catch passes for Russell during the work out.
JaMarcus Russell holding pro day in April
Russell hasn’t played a down in the NFL since 2009, but he’s hoping to impress enough scouts to get himself a second chance.

Russell, who has been out of pro football since 2009, has been working with former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia. Russell received some interests from teams back in 2010, including the Jets and Redskins, but nothing ever came of that.
He spent three seasons with the Oakland Raiders, who selected him with the No. 1 pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. Over the course of his career, he completed just 52.1 percent of his throws, connected on 18 touchdown passes and threw 23 interceptions. He appeared in a total of 31 games.
