300-pound men are not supposed to run at a speed most running backs don't reach. Apparently nobody gave Oklahoma Sooners offensive tackle Lane Johnson that memo.
2013 NFL combine results: Lane Johnson 40-yard dash comes in at 4.75
Lane Johnson just blew the roof off Lucas Oil Stadium with a 4.75 40-yard dash. Did I mention he’s an offensive tackle?

The 6’7”, 300-pound Johnson ran an incredible 4.75 40-yard dash, making every general manager and scout in the building scream “Say what?” Johnson has been projected for quite a while as a first-round pick by most NFL experts, and while straight-ahead speed doesn’t mean all that much for lineman, it doesn’t hurt.
The most important thing in this drill for the big uglies is the 10-yard split, which showcases explosion out of the set stance. Johnson’s split was 1.69, an excellent number for a man in his position.
It bears watching if Johnson can match those numbers at his Oklahoma pro day in March, although the best times are usually run on those afternoons when a friendly coach is holding the stopwatch.
Some potential landing spots for Johnson are the San Diego Chargers, Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins, should they not re-sign Jake Long.
