Reports have surfaced during the NFL Scouting Combine that current New York Jets running back Shonn Greene, an unrestricted free agent, could have possible suitors in the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons. Both ESPN.com and the NFL Network indicate Denver and Atlanta have interest in the 27-year-old Greene, who is coming off a disappointing 1,063 yard season for the Jets.

The Falcons are expected to release Michael Turner, scheduled to make $6.9 million next year. The 226-pound Greene would be a suitable big back replacement for Turner, and can be teamed up with speedster Jacquizz Rodgers in the Atlanta backfield.
The Broncos running back situation is in flux, making Denver an excellent candidate to snatch up Greene, a four-year veteran of the league. Denver's current running back corps consists of 31-year-old Willis McGahee, coming off a knee injury, inconsistent Knowshon Moreno and promising second-year man Ronnie Hillman.
Despite pedestrian overall numbers last season, Greene had a strong second half of the campaign, finishing in the Top 15 among running backs in attempts, rushing yards and rushing touchdowns while splitting carries with Bilal Powell.
