Super Bowl 2013 score: Dennis Pitta score puts Ravens up 14-3

The Ravens have a big lead over the Niners thanks to Dennis Pitta.

Joe Flacco connected with Dennis Pitta from the two-yard line to give the Ravens a 14-3 lead over the 49ers in the second quarter.

The Ravens took over at their own 25 after a LaMichael James fumble. With an early lead, they started feeding Bernard Pierce to grind the clock down, but it was the passing game that got them in scoring position thanks to a 23-yard bullet pass to Ed Dickson.

In the red zone, the Ravens were helped out by a facemask penalty from Donte Whitner. They would cash in just two plays later.

The Niners are getting killed by penalties and turnovers in the early going of this game. It’s not the kind of disciplined play we usually see from Jim Harbaugh’s team.
