Super Bowl score: Blackout over, 49ers’ offense still MIA

The 49ers’ drive was interrupted by a blackout, but it didn’t change their anemic offense.

If the San Francisco 49ers thought they were in trouble down 21-6 at halftime, then what do they think about being down 28-6? That's where they were after Jacoby Jones ran the second half kickoff back for a touchdown. Even a blackout couldn't help them as they were forced to punt in a blackout-interrupted drive.

Colin Kaepernick showed no lack of confidence on the first play of the drive, throwing a wonderful pass to Michael Crabtree for 29 yards to the 49ers' 43-yard line, but that was all San Francisco got. Two plays followed that didn't go anywhere then the blackout came. Some thought that would allow the 49ers to regroup and get back in this one, but all they did was fail to pick up the first down and punt. The Ravens are still in full control of Super Bowl 47.
