Super Bowl score: Kaepernick finds Crabtree for six, cuts Ravens lead to 28-13

Michael Crabtree made up for his big drop with a touchdown that has the 49ers threatening to get back in the game.

The San Francisco 49ers have found the end zone! Colin Kaepernick found Michael Crabtree for six and the 49ers have life. Sure, the Baltimore Ravens still lead 28-13, but at least San Francisco have their first touchdown and have made a game of it again.

Kaepernick finally got his ground game going to start the drive when he twice dropped back to pass, couldn’t find anyone open and took off. The first time he went for five yards, then he picked up 15 yards to move the 49ers out to the 40-yard line.

But the rookie quarterback needed help, and he didn’t get it from Crabtree. The wide out ran a gorgeous route to get open downfield and Kaepernick delivered a perfect pass, but Crabtree missed it at the Ravens’ 40-yard line with a defender draped all over him.

Luckily for Kaepernick, Randy Moss helped him out. The veteran reeled in a nine-yard pass on third down to move the sticks and keep the drive alive. That paid off when Kaepernick found Vernon Davis to keep the ball moving, which set up Crabtree for redemption.

On first down from the 31-yard line, Kaepernick lasered one to Crabtree, who withstood a big hit and stayed on his feet before scampering into the end zone. He had made amends for his earlier drop and finally gotten into the end zone. Now the Niners will need a few more.
