Super Bowl rings 2013: Bling time!

Every Ravens player other than Ray Lewis will be getting fitted for a Super Bowl ring for the first time.

One of the best parts of winning the Super Bowl is getting the ridiculously-off-the-hook ring that is the size of a normal house.

Who needs a regular ring when you can get one so large it serves as an eclipse?

Well, rings haven't always been this way. In fact, the rings didn't start to become overly massive until the mid-1990s, when Michael Irvin and the Dallas Cowboys were looking for some serious surface area.

For the Baltimore Ravens, it has to be very special considering all the first-time champs including Ed Reed, Haloti Ngata, Terrell Suggs, Joe Flacco and Ray Rice.

As for who gets a ring, well, that depends. Obviously every front office member, coach and active player gets one, along with any practice squad and injured reserve players.

Beyond that, it's up to each individual team as the rings are paid for by the owner and not the league. Many teams give rings to guys who played a decent amount of games for the team even if they ended up cut or traded.
