2013 Super Bowl: Multiple analysts correctly predicted Super Bowl XLVII

Thousands of predictions were made in the days leading up to the Super Bowl and while most proved to be wrong, two NFL analysts nailed their Super Bowl XLVII prediction.

USA TODAY Sports

A number of NFL analysts correctly predicted the Ravens to win Super Bowl XLVII, but few predicted the outcome as accurately as Brad Jackson of CSN Baltimore and Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.

As part of CSN Baltimore's pregame coverage, Jackson picked the Ravens to win by the correct score of 34-31. He also correctly predicted Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco would be named Super Bowl MVP following the game. While he was able to predict the final score and the Super Bowl MVP, Jackson's prediction that Ray Rice would finish with over 150 total yards came up short. Rice finished the game with 78 total yards.

Jackson, however, wasn’t the only analyst to correctly predict both the final score and the Super Bowl MVP. Even though he didn’t make his prediction on camera like Jackson, Rosenthal also nailed his prediction. While many of his colleagues picked San Francisco, Rosenthal picked Baltimore to win 34-31 and for Flacco to claim the MVP honors.

Both score predictions proved to be true when Baltimore decided to take an intentional safety with four seconds remaining in the game. If the Ravens had punted and San Francisco failed to score, Baltimore would have won 34-29.
