Aaron Rodgers will pay close attention to Joe Flacco’s new contract
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be paying close attention to Joe Flacco’s new contract with the Ravens, as Rodgers’ contract is set to expire following the 2014 season.

According to ESPN Wisconsin, Rodgers and his camp are particularly interested in what the Ravens give Flacco, as Rodgers enters the final two seasons of a six-year contract signed in 2008.

“I think everybody is going to see what Joe (Flacco) ends up signing for,” Rodgers said on his weekly radio show on 540 ESPN and ESPNWisconsin.com on Tuesday. “I’m sure they want to lock him up. He’s a great player - had an incredible run in the playoffs - and I’m sure they want to keep him around. A guy like that, with the post-season success he’s had, you want to keep a guy like that around for a while.”
Flacco enjoyed one of the best postseasons in history, upsetting the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers en route to leading the Ravens to the Super Bowl title.
Partly because of his recent success, Flacco's agent believes that his client should be the NFL's highest paid quarterback, which means he believes Flacco should earn more than Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or Drew Brees.
If Flacco does receive the NFL’s richest contract, then Rodgers will almost certainly look to better that mark in the next two years. Rodgers, like Flacco, has a Super Bowl title, but also has an MVP award -- something Flacco doesn’t have. By all accounts, Rodgers is the better quarterback, and will likely want his contract to reflect that.
