Super Bowl 2013: Bernard Pollard believes Ed Reed will return to Ravens

Many have speculated Ed Reed has played his last game with the Ravens, Bernard Pollard said he believes Reed will return next season.

USA TODAY Sports

Long-time Ravens safety Ed Reed is scheduled to become a unrestricted free agent and while many have speculated he has played his last game for Baltimore, at least one of Reed's teammates isn't so sure.

In a radio appearance with KILT in Houston, Ravens safety Bernard Pollard said he believes Reed will return to the Ravens next season.

“Yeah, they’re going to do everything they can. Honestly, I don’t know what the front office is going to do, but you’ve got to believe and trust that they’re going to do everything they can to lock a future Hall of Famer up,” Pollard said, according to Sports Radio Interviews. “I know Ed wants to be here. We all want Ed here.”

Reed, who has spent all 11 years of his NFL career with the Ravens, said he wants to play at least one more season. While there is no question Reed has been major part of the Ravens organization over the last decade, Baltimore has a number of free agents.

As SB Nation's Ravens blog Baltimore Beatdown wrote, the Ravens have decisions to make this offseason. That includes determining how to pursue Reed. The Ravens will also have to make decisions on Joe Flacco, Anquan Boldin, Jacoby Jones and Paul Kruger, among others.
