The surgery wasn't a major procedure, but it could force Cole to miss a portion of the offseason program in the spring. The eight-year veteran had reportedly been dealing with his wrist injury for over a year and hopes this surgery will finally correct the issue.
This injury may explain Cole's down year in 2012, where he was held to just three sacks after posting 10 or more for three years in a row. He was just one of many Eagles players who underachieved last season.
Cole turns 31 in October. He is signed through 2017 and is set to make $3.5 million in 2013. The Eagles aren't expected to cut him or restructure his contract, but they would like to see a bounce-back year from their expensive investment.
