In the calm before the storm, not much is being said on the potential whereabouts of left tackle Jake Long, currently of the Miami Dolphins.
Jake Long rumors: Bears, Rams ‘most interested’ in tackle
The former No. 1 overall pick is on the market and drawing interest from a few NFC teams.

According to Mike Garafolo, the St. Louis Rams and Chicago Bears are a couple teams that are interested in the former No. 1 overall pick. Both teams have had well-documented issues on their offensive lines, making Long somewhat of a white whale for each.
Long hasn’t been the same player in recent times, struggling by all accounts in 2012. Many point to his injuries as the main reason for some issues, as Long only suited up for 12 games. Now, Long has proclaimed he’s healthy and ready to go at 100 percent again.
Chicago desperately needs someone to help Jay Cutler, who was battered once again last season with the team ranking 25th in the league in sacks allowed.
All that said, Long will be the most sought after offensive lineman this offseason, likely commanding $10 million and up per year. If the Rams and Bears do emerge as the frontrunners for his services, one must wonder if the tiebreaker goes to St. Louis for having a proven head coach in Jeff Fisher.
