The Cincinnati Bengals announced the re-signing of linebacker Rey Maualuga on Monday morning, according to Adam Caplan. Maualuga only visited two other teams during free agency, but he chose to stick around with the team that drafted him in 2009.
Cincinnati Bengals re-sign Rey Maualuga
The Bengals are keeping Rey Maualuga around after re-signing the 26-year-old linebacker.

With Mauagula remaining on the roster, the only concern left is where he will line up in 2013. He made the switch to middle linebacker in 2011 after starting at SAM linebacker in his first two seasons with Cincinnati. His recent years have been up and down, as several flaws appeared during his time playing in the middle.
Vontaze Burfict could move to middle linebacker coming off his solid rookie campaign. This would allow Maualuga to go back to the strong side, which seems to be expected at this point.
Maualuga recorded 348 total tackles over the past four years with the Bengals. Recent reports indicated the two sides were moving closer to a deal, ultimately resulting in a deal early in the week. Now the Bengals can focus on keeping bigger names like Andre Smith.
